Thanks to everyone who came together to make this a successful and positive event. Belsby assisted two communities with Technical Team meetings including regulatory and funding agencies. In these meetings, projects were discussed and preliminary schedules was prepared for project funding and deadlines. Congratulations to the Town of Spangle and their 2014 IACC Transportation Project of the Year Award. TIB Regional Director, Steve Gorcester, nominated the Town and their successful project. Mayor Ralph Sunwold attended the conference and thankfully accepted the award on behalf of the Town.
Belsby teamed with Lincoln County Fire District Fire Chief, Scott Clemenson, to provide a review of their journey of obtaining project funding. The Sprague Emergency Response Center won the 2013 IACC Community Facilities Project of the Year.
Additionally, thank you to all that participated in the putting competition. Town of Rosalia Mayor, Nanette Konishi, came out on top and won the contest!
This was a great conference to meet with Water and Sewer Districts throughout Washington State. Commissioners and operators discussed their water systems, needs and support of the conference. Congratulations to Commissioner Rich Whitson from Whatcom County Water District No. 13 for winning the Belsby putt-off and a bottle of Dry Fly Washington Wheat Whiskey.
The project used cement treated soils and concrete rubblization for a cost effective design benefiting the Town with over $150,000 in estimated savings. This project is featured as a showcase TIB project that improved the transportation needs for the area residents. In attendance were Spangle Council, residents, TIB Director, Steve Gorcester, TIB Engineer, Gloria Bennett and Belsby Engineering.
